Hi, Beardie Bobbers.  Sorry to have been a bit slow this year, but I was only born in April.  My name is Wesley and I am a slate and white beardie boy.  My mum is called Joanna and last year we went just about everywhere in the country.

After I had my jabs and it was safe for me to go out my mum took me to Peterborough to some sort of a camp site so that my auntie Lucinda could show off my doggie mum and her auntie Morag to someone called Judge.  They didn’t do so well, at least they said they didn’t win, I don’t know what but they didn’t come home with any bones or anything else to eat!  We travelled in really bad weather and had to keep stopping as there were too many hills and the car kept getting hot because of the house we carried on the back of the car.  We eventually got there very late and I was so tired that to be honest, by the time I settled we were back on the road again, travelling in the very direction we came from. I don’t know, crazy people.  Anyway, we went to somewhere called Malvern where Auntie Lucinda and mum Riva Mae did actually come home with a bone as they won their class, whatever that means.  We celebrated that day with a meal with my human grandparents, Chinese as it happens, quite delicious.

No sooner did we arrive home than we were on the road again, this time to YKC camp, good job I travel well, in fact I sleep the whole way, time goes quicker that way.  We had a great week at Newark.  I didn’t do much, just got loads of cuddles and kisses from everyone there, good job I had my wits about me, someone might have taken me home with them.  My doggie mum worked hard though, I didn’t know she knew quite so much.  One minute she was in the show ring, next she was doing obedience.  Took my eyes off her for a minute and she was over the jumps!  Gracious, what stamina.  She even passed her Good Citizens Bronze Award.  And, my human mum took Bonner the Briard for his Good Citizens GOLD award and he PASSED.  Honestly, I hope I grow up to be as clever.  I might be ‘cause my mum Joanna keeps telling me how wonderful I am.  Well then, I must be.

After that I went to Builth Wells for a camping holiday, don’t quite know what for, but it seems that Nana Jules and Auntie Lucinda went missing for a day.  They tell me it was because Nana Jules was judging the Tri and Bi-athalon for the YKC and Mum Joanna and Auntie Lucinda stewarded.  Gosh, these activities keep the humans busy.  Good job I’m a dog.

Things calmed down a bit after that and when I was six months old mum Joanna started showing me off to that person called Judge.  Seemed to do alright, I think I gave a good impression as Judge smiled a lot at me and kept telling me to go to the middle of the ring.  Well, we have to earn our keep, don’t we.

Anyway, I got to go to London.  How exciting!  Something called Discover Dogs.  Spent two days there, even got to go into the BIG RING.  I was ever so good.  One dog (don’t know his name) actually had a poo in there.  I would NEVER do that.  Well, not if I can help it anyway.

Did you go to CRUFTS?  I did, well, I went to Discover Dogs there to show off.  My mum, Riva Mae and Auntie Lucinda went in the ring.  They must have gone round in circles, I suppose.  Makes you quite dizzy, doesn’t it?  Then, bless her, she had to go in again.  Auntie Lucinda’s friend, Jodie Harrison won the class with Bella, and I must say they made a lovely pair.  It looked like mum Riva Mae looked quite fed up,  Nana Jules said she needed a rocket up her bum, What a thing to say about my mum!

Hopefully, now that I’m a big boy, (I’m a year old in April) and can write a bit better, we’ll be in touch more often.  I’d love to hear from you with your stories, perhaps we can compare notes.

Please write and tell me what you have been up to this last year and how wacky your humans are!
